During the summer of 1998, our members worked on their own investigations - it's something you could try at any time of year. These are the instructions they were given ...
During
the summer holidays we would like you to 'investigate' a subject of your choice.
There
are loads and loads of subjects to choose from, it could be a favourite pet,
pop group, flowers, hobby or other special interest.
You
should gather up lots of information on your subject, this should include your
own drawings, paintings, photographs and any other information that you can
find.
Look
at the shapes in your subject - for example, if you choose horses, what are
all the different types of horses? What are their colours? What shapes and designs
are in the horses' saddles, etc? Who uses horses? What do their costumes look
like?
Keep
all your drawings, etc, in a scrapbook or even a shoe box, as long as you keep
it all together.
When
you come back after the summer we will be creating something exciting from your
'collection'.
