De Denne Competition 2007 - On the Move

133 Young Embroiderers, boys and girls between the ages of 6 - 17 years, from all over the country, created these really amazing entries specifically for the competition. Of these, 107 Members worked together in their Young Embroiderers Groups to create 8 group entries. It is a great achievement to have completed a piece and then to pack and send it in time for the deadline. Thank you and congratulations everyone!

An entry could be inspired by being active - running, walking, going somewhere on a bike or perhaps horse riding. Or it could be based on a form of transport - travelling in a car or on trains or boats or planes. Or it could be about moving to another location, say to a new school or house or to another country. Timetables, maps and transport routes could also provide some interesting starting points.

Any materials and techniques could be used. The work could be 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional. It had to be lightweight, easy to pack, post, store and ready to display!
