The deDenne Competition 2008On this web page we proudly present the award winning entries created by individual Young Embroiderers and the Members' group entries for the competition.
The display at the Fashion and Embroidery Show in Harrogate in October looked really great. Visitors were impressed by the standard and originality of the work, and the way that Young Embroiderers responded to the theme. The entries were full of colour, movement and good ideas inspired by decorated carnival floats, animals or characters in the crowd, puppets or festive masks, dancers dressed in fabulous costumes moving to the beat of party music, bunting or streamers.
Any materials and techniques could be used. The work could be 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional. But it had to be lightweight, easy to pack, post, store and ready to display!
Overall ninety-one Members participated. A display of award winning entries was also shown on the Guild's stand at the 2008 Knitting and Stitching Shows in Dublin and Harrogate.
