These are the competition entries created by individual Young Embroiderers selected for prizes in the LIGHT competition. Congratulations everyone. Many visitors at the Knitting and Stitching Shows at Alexandra Palace, London in October were delighted to see these award winners displayed on the Embroiderers' Guild stand.
Any textile related materials or techniques could be used and the work could be two or three-dimensional. All the work entered was created for the de Denne Competition. 44 individual entries came in and 34 Young Embroiderers from Linlithgow, Merseyside, Worthing and Blackmore Vale were involved making the group entries. The judges were impressed by the all the different ideas inspired by LIGHT and the inventive way in which stitches and fabric and thread were used.
