We looked at lots of pictures of wintry scenes, frosted trees and lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, and snowy gardens.

We used siver, grey, white and sparkly fabrics in different weights and textures from silk organza to velvet to create a winter scene.

We frayed edges to give the impression of hedgerows and trees, and slightly padded the foreground as though it were snow.
